John McNerney has been working with metal since 1997 when he entered farrier school at Colorado State University. He found a passion for blacksmithing and metal work. Through the years, John has hone his skills in metal work and has incorporated these into the Yukon Forge.
John started out as a farrier/blacksmith and is a Journeyman Farrier through the American Farrier Association. John was on the American Farriers Association Team for 4 years. During that time, he traveled all over the US, Canada, Scotland and England competing as a farrier. John’s passion led him to build farrier tools and thus started and developed Yukon Forge with his wife Megan.
In 2019, John was a contestant and champion in the popular
Forged In Fire bladesmithing reality tv show.
Again in 2020, John returned to Forged in Fire- Beat the Judges episode.
John’s passion for making tools and custom parts has led him to build Yukon Forge into a CNC Machining Shop with the ability to forge, weld, and fabricate parts. We have experience working with tool steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Today, Yukon Forge is dedicated to using their experience and skills to develop world class products for our clients.
